If you’re looking to celebrate Halloween in style this year, looking no further than the annual New York City Village Parade. This Oct. 31 will be the 45th annual event, which is celebrating the theme “I AM a Robot!”

The Big Apple will be changing things up this year by offering a Special VIP Robot Section. For the first time ever, ticketholders will be given access to a “secret” entry point for early admission and will enjoy an in-parade party. Tickets (purchase yours here) cost $25 each and a robot costume is required to march in the VIP section.

You don’t need a ticket to participate in the parade, however. Costumed participants are still able to march free of charge, just not in the VIP section.

Whether you’re planning to walk in the parade, watch from the sidelines, or just want to view the excitement from the comfort of your own home, we have all the tips and information you need below.

Date And Time: The festivities begin at 7 p.m. (6 p.m. for ticketed participants) on Oct. 31 and conclude at 10:30 p.m. EDT.

Meeting Spot: Those in costume can meet up to march in the parade on 6th Avenue at Canal Street between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Viewing Spots: The parade runs up 6th Avenue from Spring Street to 16th Street. (Pro tip: Organizers warn the busiest sections for spectators are usually between Bleecker and 14th Street.)

Route Map: See the complete route map HERE.

Directions: Follow this guide for tips on the most direct routes to take to get to the parade via the Subway, bus or NJ Transit.

Weather: It is expected to be partly cloudy with temperatures dropping to a low of 45 degrees on Halloween night in New York City.

Television Info: The NYC Village Halloween Parade will telecast live on NY 1 Television from 8-9:30 p.m. You can watch the NY1 live stream by logging online with your TV provider information here.
